Serie Schwarz-Weiss

Serien: Micha, Berlin, Atlanta and Portraits
Charcoal, Siberian Chalk Micha Series In June 2009, Micha visited me for the first and only time. Micha, the missing sister, wrote beautiful poems. There was no promise between us, no mutual help, no shared support. Berlin Series A bed in Prenzlauer Berg. City walks. Joy and sorrow among companions of fate. Traffic light images, clear signs. Nothing that grows into the suggestive. Distinct imprints. Atlanta Series I was invited to the artist village "Hambidge" north of Atlanta, Georgia. Writers, musicians, and artists in country houses and idyllic forests. Shared meals and walks, always with the potential for getting lost. I tied ribbons around trees. I drew to orient myself. Ongoing Series Portraits in Black & White I started portrait painting early on. But it took me a very, very long time before I considered my first portrait satisfactory. In black-and-white technique, I finally found the clarity, freedom, and depth I had hoped for. I mainly portrayed friends and acquaintances from my surroundings. A series that continues.
