River Glow
Leuchtlinse & Performance by AliPaloma & Hartwig Thaler
AliPaloma and Hartwig Thaler tell the story of the power of water. In the middle of the river, a lens-like object emerges from the water’s surface. The water’s energy, converted into electricity, makes the lens glow. On the riverbanks, close to this newly created "Leuchtlinse" (Luminous Lens), people engage with the power of water in their own personal ways. As representatives, the performers marked with the symbol of the luminous lens enact this connection in the simultaneously occurring performance. They reflect, dream, make plans, hope for answers, surrender to their emotions. Between the characters in costume and the floating luminous lens in the river, a visual and conceptual connection emerges, reinforcing the title of this art installation for the Water Light Festival 2023: The river gives people light.
